Snow Fun

Last weekend Branston (and his dad) experienced snow for the first time. He did not know it was so cold and wet!! We went up to Ceres and went up a 4x4 trail on a nearby farm. Certainly could not have done this without a 4x4! We went up to the top (almost) of the mountain (well, maybe a hill) with the 2 boys screaming like girls half the time. Once in the snow they had a ball. Snowmen and snowball fights were the order of the day. Luckily we brought spare clothing as they had to change their pants before we went home. The adults had some yummy gluwein to warm us up, after Neil gave us a fright by burning a hole into the gas pipe of his gas stove!
All in all, a good time was had by all but we are so glad that we do not live in Europe or Canada!

I am battling to get more than 1 pic uploaded at a time, so due to long time of creating each post I can only put up 2 photos. I was trying to get a photo of Branston and Milo where Milo would sit still and Branston was trying to get her to be still but as you can see that was not working so well!

Just figured out how to create posts on Branston's blog as myself. So in future when it says posted by V at the bottom of a post then that was me and when it says posted by Branston then, well the rest is obvious. Hmmm, I am getting quite clever at this blogging stuff!

Birthday Party

The pirates and the pirate cake.






















Hunting for treasure and quad bike riding.











Branston had his birthday party at Cheval farm in Morningstar. As you can see from the pictures it was a pirate party. The kids had a ball. The weather did not cooperate as we were almost blown away by the wind and the snacks got very sandy but that did not worry the kids too much. I did a treasure hunt where I buried one treasure and lots of sweets. In retrospect I should have just buried lots of small treasures as there was a bit of friction over who had actually found the treasure!

The farm organised pony rides, quad bike rides and tractor rides, all of which all the pirates enjoyed thoroughly. There was also a trampoline for them to jump on which was quite popular. Branston received some really nice presents and would like to thank all his friends for being there. More pics to follow.
